Executive Director's Year-End Message
Dear Friends & Supporters:
Season’s greetings from all of us at the UCF! The past year has been a productive and exciting one – I encourage you to read within and visit our website for highlights and ways to get more involved in our fight against cancer. Make a donation, volunteer, join Team Fight…there are many options to getting involved.
Last year when we spoke, we had just celebrated 10 – THE EVENT with Lance Armstrong, were in the final stages of completing and publishing a five year strategic plan and we were making groundbreaking strides in the field of adolescent and young adult oncology through our participation in the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance (LSYAA) – a tough act to follow. However, this past year was no less exciting and I’m proud to report we’re continuing to great make strides.
In 2008, we continued to engage and inform our community and supporters about the critical issues facing young adult cancer survivors through a variety of projects, events and programs. Whether it was strengthening our participation in the LSYAA, growing our National College Scholarship Program by awarding scholarships to eleven young adults, hosting a benefit concert featuring Sheryl Crow or working tirelessly to implement our five year strategic plan, we remain focused and committed to working collaboratively and efficiently to help young adults fight cancer.
Because of all of your generosity, 2008 was one of the most successful years to date for the UCF. We’re look forward to making 2009 equally prosperous. As we face one of the most uncertain economic times in our history, I remind you that your support is more important than ever.
Every donation counts – please consider making a tax-deductible donation through our website or the enclosed envelope to support our 10th Annual Year-End Campaign. .
We wish you peace, good health and happiness in 2008!
Best Regards,
